Heaven on Earth
Updated: Sep 26, 2023
This post is short and heavenly …
The other day I was walking through Heathrow airport at chicken-thirty in the morning and I noticed how happy I was feeling. It didn’t seem to matter that I only had about three hours sleep before being picked up by a taxi at 3am. I felt great.
Everything in the airport seemed beautiful to me. The people at the check-in desk, the security team, my fellow passengers, the plants, even the pictures on the wall, EVERYTHING! It was like I was safely cocooned inside a happiness bubble. It felt like what I imagine heaven is like … full of love, peace and beauty!
The awesome thing is that this wasn’t just a one-time thing. I’ve been feeling this way ever since I finished reading the book ‘The Four Agreements’ by Don Miguel Ruiz. When I finished this book, I committed myself to living my life by these agreements:
Be impeccable with your word.
Don’t take anything personally.
Don’t make assumptions.
Always do your best.
Making good on these agreements can be difficult and is a work in progress, but since I’ve been trying, my life has felt down right heavenly.
I’m not convinced that there is a heaven to spend eternity, and I don’t want to wait until I’m dead to receive life’s rewards! I feel like I already hit the jack pot simply by being born, and I am committed to experiencing heaven on earth by living the hell out of life!
